Can Mucinex (guaifenesin) thin the mucus in my womb and thus endanger the fetus?

Can Mucinex (guaifenesin) thin the mucus in my womb and thus endanger the fetus?

Minimal concern: Mucinex (guaifenesin) is guiafenesin, an expectorant-- a medicine to thin mucus so that it can more easily be cleared from the throat and sinuses. It is a pregnancy category c drug, so should be used with caution. There is no mucus is the womb to speak of, and there is no evidence that the presence or absence of cervical mucus has significance to fetal well-being. ...Read more

Pregnancy and infection and neoplastic conditions are some others. Do not worry about this. All you should be doing is seeing the OBGYN once a year for an exam and a PAP smear and he will advise if any problems.thx ...Read more

Single intruterine fundal gestational sac is seen with no detectable fetal pole development at 7 weeks 4 days will the baby survive looks like 5weeks?

Less likely: So, the first assumption is that the dating is correct. If you are truly 7+4 weeks, there should be both a fetal pole and a heartbeat. But for various reasons you may be only 5-6 weeks so worth repeating ultrasound to make sure ...Read more

6w 4d pregnant with fetal pole, yolk sac ...heartbeat detectd...but seems gestational sac is irregular...sign of miscarriage?

6w 4d pregnant with fetal pole, yolk sac ...heartbeat detectd...but seems gestational sac is irregular...sign of miscarriage?

Don't worry: The most important thing is that the fetus has a heartbeat. Did they tell you an actual fetal heart rate? Sometimes the gestational sac looks different. There could be a nearby fibroid or subchorionic hemorrhage. Signs of a miscarriage are uterine cramping and bleeding. If you are not having those symptoms I would not worry about this. The sonogram can be repeated in 1-2 weeks. ...Read more

I'm 7 weeks and 5 days pregnant. Transvaginal ultrasound says no yolk sac and no fetal heartbeat. Is the baby still alive?

I'm 7 weeks and 5 days pregnant. Transvaginal ultrasound says no yolk sac and no fetal heartbeat. Is the baby still alive?

Unlikely: At 7 weeks gestation (7 weeks after the last menstrual period), a gestational sac, a yolk sac, an embryo and fetal heartbeat should be seen. It is unlikely that the baby is alive. However, a short-term follow up ultrasound can provide a definitive answer. ...Read more

Is a thick uterus wall normal while pregnant?

Is a thick uterus wall normal while pregnant?

Maybe: The uterus changes throughout pregnancy. A fibroid may appear as a 'thick' uterine wall, though they are usually distinct on ultrasound. A contraction will also make the uterine mall appear thicker. Later in pregnancy the lower uterine walls may appear thinner. You may want to ask your provider to clarify what was described as thick. ...Read more

Ultrasound showed 5 weeks pregnant instead of 7 with no yolk sac n fetal pole gestational sac 1.6cm with corpus luteal cyst of preg 31mm miscarriage??

Not yet: These are approximate dates. There is a week error at this phase. And dates could be off as well. It is best to wait a week or two and also measure the blood for the hormone levels of HCG. Then you will have a better measure of how things are going. ...Read more
