I take Paxil (paroxetine) and clonazepam and i have cold/flu I need medicine but the only thing recommended is Mucinex dm which never worked for me! Is there anything else I can take that is safe less side effects?
Try topicals: The only interaction between OTC cold medicines and paroxetine is the increased risk for serotonin syndrome (rare). If you have a history of this syndrome or any others - I'd call your doctor. In the meantime - I'd suggest an intranasal spray (Nasacort) and Chloraseptic Max throat drops to treat the symptoms. An on-line study showed no reports of elevated sex hormone binding globulin (linked to testosterone levels) and mucinex (guaifenesin).
