Mucinex D Medication
How do I get rid of a medication rash? Hi, I took Mucinex (guaifenesin) d sometime last week, now I believe it cause a rash throughout my torso and face. How can I get rid of it?
This: This is difficult to answer without a clinical examination, but typically a drug rash can linger for a little while. I would see a dermatologist to be sure the diagnosis is correct and they can possibly prescribe some topical steroids and possible oral therapies such as antihistamines/oral steroids or other appropriate treatments to help you. Does your rash kind of look like the rash below? I hope that helps a little! ...Read more

Depends: If you just lost your ability to smell/taste in the past day or so, use oxymetazoline (afrin) 1 spray each nostril 3x a day followed 10 minutes later by using nasal saline irrigations (sinus rinse or neti poti). Only use the afrin for up to 3 days, saline can be used indefinitely. If your sense of smell is not back in the next 3 days, get checked out. ...Read more
Started out as a sinus infection but now have a nasty cough. Can I take Mucinex (guaifenesin) while on the other medications?
Is standard Mucinex (guaifenesin) safe with my current health conditions and medications (specifically the anti-arrhythmic). I Have mucous in lungs from virus.
Yes. Only if..: If you got a prescription for this then by all means take the antibiotic. The other meds can help to alleviate your symptoms. If you have not been diagnosed by a doc for this and just have access to some antibiotics lying in your medicine cabinet then I would advise you to see your doctor for proper diagnosis and treatment. ...Read more

What to do if I take seroquel and lamictal, bipolar medications. I have a really bad sinus infection. Does Mucinex (guaifenesin) mix with these medications?
I just took Robutussin, but I forgot I had Mucinex, (guaifenesin) which is better for my symptoms. Can I now take the mucinex, (guaifenesin) or will the two drugs interact?
There are several: Different formulations of Robitussin and several different formulations of Mucinex (guaifenesin). Some contain identical drugs to each other and others do not. Since you have not specified, it would be best to wait the appropriate amount of time per the directions on the bottle and then make the switch to another agent rather than risk doubling up. It should only be 6 hours till your next dose so you can wait. ...Read more
I just took mucinex DM with my Zoloft, looked up drug interactions for my propranolol and found out I just set myself up for SS, what should I do?
My mother has been misusing the drug Mucinex (guaifenesin) in order to get high. She has been using it for years. Every dose gets bigger. I'm worried.
Your mom needs you and whomever else cares for her to intervene and get her to medical attention and drug rehabilitation.
Bought some Mucinex dm today for cough and chest congestion. I also take 20mg of Lexapro (escitalopram). Drugs dot com says major interactions. Uhhhh? Can I take?
Ask pharmacist or Dr: This is very troubling indeed. And everything I've read supports what you found. Don't risk a potentially life-threatening interaction but do try to find an alternative to Lexapro (escitalopram) w/ your doctor. It's not the guaifenesin part, so you could take Mucinex pills and gargle w/ salt water for throat pain and drink honey-lemon-tea- (bit of bourbon). Sorry, but you actually may find this to work better! ...Read more

Mucinex (guaifenesin) D: Hello, I often hear the very same question regarding daily decongestant usage. My opinion is that I would rather my patients use an intranasal steroid daily with plain Mucinex (guaifenesin) as needed. The pseudo fed used in the Mucinex (guaifenesin) d will cause an elevated heart rate, blood pressure changes, sleep cycle interruptions and finally it may cause urinary retention in men. So avoid the daily use of pseudo fed. ...Read more
