Mucinex Cough Mini Melts
The cough reflex is a protective mechanism that uses muscles in your throat and chest to expel mucous and saliva that may contain pathogens that would otherwise possibly be inhaled via aerosol or to expel pathogens infecting the throat and respiratory system. Cough benefits the host by reducing load and benefits the pathogen which may then spread via aerosol. ...Read more

Symptoms: sinus pressure, runny nose, sneezing, nasal congestion, cough. Nyquil cold n flu or Mucinex (guaifenesin) fast max cold n flu night time? Which is better?
OTC cold meds: They pretty much work the same way. Cold symptoms should not last for more than 7-10 days. See a local doc if it does not resolve after that period or gets progressively worse. ...Read more
Is it safe to take OTC Robitussin (guaifenesin) cough + chest congestion dm & an albuterol nebulizer treatment 2 hours apart? I am sick with a terrible deep cough
Mucinex (guaifenesin) dm vs. Robitussin dm? I've got a very bad, "dry" cough and lots of "wheezing" the Robitussin has done nothing! should I try the mucinex (guaifenesin)?
Cough: Robitussin dm (guaifenesin and dextromethorphan) and Mucinex dm have same chemicals- dextromethorphan and guaifenesin. Dextromethorphan is cough suppressant and Guaifenesin is cough expectorant. You just will be switching the brand. Wheezing is large airway obstruction problem. See your doctor. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Avoid Cold medicines: Cough in young children is extremely frustrating for parents. Unfortunately cough medications used in adults don't work in children. Decongestants in combination with cough medications can actually be harmful. Using guafenesin may be helpful to help secretions stay loose. Increasing fluid intake and humidity in the air can definitely help. Honey (for kids over 12 months) may be a natural remedy. ...Read more
Can I take mucinex 600mg guaifenesin extended release no-layer tablets with robitussin 12hour cough relief?
Different: Mucinex D contains Guaifenesin 600mg (for cough) and Pseudoephedrine 60mg, while Mucinex Sinus Max Day has Guaifenesin 200mg, Phenylephrine 5mg, and Tylenol (acetaminophen) 325mg. I generally recommend Pseudoephedrine over Phenylephrine for nasal congestion so my personal preference would be Mucinex D. But if you have a fever or pain, Mucinex Sinus Max would be good if you don't want to take Tylenol (acetaminophen) separately. ...Read more

Cough, gurggling/labored breathing,coughing up green mucus,started 5/11 with runny nose,sore throat,fever 2 days later,on levoquin+albuterol 5days?
URI: Sounds like an upper respiratory infection or acute bronchitis serious enough for antibiotics. Levaquin (levofloxacin) is good choice both for bacterial URI and/or sinusitis. Also get OTC expectorant/mucolytic for the productive cough. I recommend Robitussin PE or any combo of guafenesin and decongestant. ...Read more

Bronchitis: You have bronchitis. Need to know if there is tightness in the chest or wheezing (asthmatic bronchitis). You do not require antibiotics unless purulent sputum (green or brown coloration). If dm doesnt suppress cough you may profit from a codiene containing expectorant. For bronchial tightness you need an inhaler or theophyllin (200 mg three times a day) or some steroids - like Prednisone few days. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
No. IUI is better: It has been thought that it may thin the cervical mucus but there is no scientific evidence that it helps increase fertility. Cervical mucus problems are a rare cause of not getting pregnant (unless taking clomid, (clomiphene) or some women with previous leep or cone biopsy of the cervix). Intrauterine insemination (iui) is a good option. See a fertility specialist (rei) if trying to conceive without success. ...Read more
