Msm Glucosamine Complex Medication
Men who have sex with men, or msm, is currently considered the appropriate way to describe male same sex sexual partners. There are plenty of men who don't self identify as "gay, " but who do have male sexual partners. I don't see this term used in popular culture, but rather it is used in the medical community, often when talking about ...Read more
Different supplement: Msm is sold as a dietary supplement and marketed with a variety of claims, often in combination with glucosamine and/or chondroitin for helping to treat or prevent osteoarthritis. There is little evidence that it works and it is not fda approved. Msm is the abbreviation for "methylsulfonylmethane." I do not recommend it for arthritis. It is pricey and of little proven value! ...Read more

See below: In my opinion (and not necessarily based on any head-to-head studies), I feel that osteo bi-flex and cosamin ds are two of the highest quality glucosamine and chondrotin products. There are very few studies that demonstrate a benefit from msm, so I personally do not endorse its use. ...Read more

More is never better: In medicine it has been proven over and over and over that the assumption that taking more and more medications, supplements, vitamins will be better. But in reality when it comes to these things more is dangerous in almost all instances. So when a doctor hears a question like yours the red flags fly to full mast and worry begins to appear. What are the side effects of flex a min triple strength vitamin Flex-A-Min Glucosamine Chondroitin Msm Tablets Triple Strength?
Yes: The combination of glucosamine and chondroitin has been shown in studies to (1) provide a degree of pain relief in the short term, and (2) trigger growth of new cartilage when taken for at least two years straight. So it can help you pain and reverse some of the chronic damage. You can find this in the health food store. MSM is not necessary and adds to the cost of the product. ...Read more

Question for my dad: he wants to get some joint supplement, he do not suffer any joint pain/do not exercise a lot just once a week, what content of glucosamine should he get? W msm/chondrotin sulfate? Thanks!
Exercise is better: There are many ways to exercise. Walking is a great choice. Normal joints are kept healthy by using them. The cartilage is helped by loading, by use, by movement. Supplements might help some folks, but my advice, based on what you wrote: encourage him to exercise! Perhaps you can do it together. ...Read more
Is taking joint supplements containing glucosamine, MSM, chondroitin harmful or has any side effects in any way, especially on the kidney or liver?
No way to tell: Unfortunately, dietary supplements are regulated as foods (as opposed to drugs). As such, they are not required to undergo the same testing (or prove their claims to be true). Also, since no third party testing of their product is required - the ingredients listed don't even have to match what is in the bottle. Wish I had a better answer. .. Good luck! ...Read more

Chronic pain fr hip to thigh. Sometimes stiff n worsen by movement. Osteoarthritis? Glucosamine+chondroitin+msm help?
Maybe hip bursitis:
It is likely that you have a condition called trochanteric bursitis of your hip--it is inflammation of the area surrounding the curve of the hip-thigh bone. Possibly resulted from excessive use/walking/running and/or laying on the side on a firm/hard surface too long. Hip arthritis and disc disease can cause hip pain as well. Motrin/aleve may help. If not better, consult doc for eval.

Is it safe to take Prilosec, glucosamine, msm, chondroiton, chlorophyll, calcium citrate, multi vitamin, and vitamin d together and daily?
That is a big load of meds.
Some, such as Vitamin D, do not need a prescription or blood test. Over-the counter vitamin D is inexpensive and does not need a prescription. Even better it is already in your milk and you don't really need to buy Vitamin D separately.
Do you really need all the others?
Look up "NuVal" on the web and see what foods are best for you rather than meds. ...Read more
Is it safe to take testim (testosterone gel) with glucosamine sulfate, chondroitin & msm, and omega 3 supplements? Anything I should /shouldnt take
Why?: The testim is safe, but have you really been checked out to determine if your need it? Did you take Anabolic steroids earlier in your life that may have caused your current deficiency? Testim good if you need testorsterone replacement, the other stuff if junk and won't help you in any way - except to spend your money needlessly. Nothing else you should take, lots you shouldn't.
