Mri Claustrophobia Valium Rct
I have taken valium, haldol, (haloperidol) and ativan to get through a CT scan due to my claustrophobia. No success. Please help?
CT claustrophobia.: Under-dosing can be the problem. Halcion (triazolam) may be the best. I generally prescribed more than one ill for this condition and instruct patient to take an additional dose in 30 to 45 minutes if still claustrophobic. Need to have a driver. If still problematic, may need to be done under IV sedation. An open MRI may provide the same answer as the ct scan. ...Read more
Mri or magnetic resonance imaging is one of the more recently developed imaging modalities available to physicians. It uses powerful magnets to generate images. There is no ionizing radiation which is a major advantage over many other modalities. Mri is the best imaging exam that we have for most soft tissue and joint related problems. There are radiologists ...Read more
Ask your provider: While open MRI can be an option, the magnet is much weaker than closed mri. This means the picture quality is not as good, like the difference between an inexpensive camera and a professional one. For some areas of the body, the open is okay. For others (spine in my practice) the higher quality is critical. Sedation can be used to deal with claustrophobia. Your provider can guide you. ...Read more
Have mri tomorrow take klonipin for anxiety 1 Mg was prescribed 2 Mg Valium because I'm clastropoyic can you take them together?
No: Valium and Klonopin are in the same class of medications. You should not take them together. Those dosages are low enough that nothing bad would likely happen but it just not good to mix those medications. I would talk with your provider about what dose of a single medication (Klonopin or valium) would be best. ...Read more

Claustrophobia? I couldn't get into tube of MRI being panic. Eventually, got in from feet and kept face outside. Are there ways to overcome the fear?
Open MRI or Sedation: If you need MRI scans in the future, you may benefit from an open MRI scanner if one is available in your area. It is open on two sides and some people tolerate it better. Another option is sedation MRI where you get conscious sedation during your MRI scan. Again, this is not available in all practices or hospitals. ...Read more
Mri monday morning possible disc herniation. Doc wants me to take a Valium before hand, never called it in. I have Xanax (alprazolam) for my dog. (.5mg). Same?
Similar enough: Just make sure you have someone drive you. It takes 20 min for valium to work, but about 45 min for xanax (alprazolam). Depending on how claustrophobic you are, you may need to take two of pooches pills. May your test results show that you have a new leash, I mean lease, on life:). Best wishes. Make sure your dog sees a cognitive behavioral therapist so fido doesn't have to be on meds life-long. ...Read more
Vertigo on and off 4 years. Now having for 2 weeks. Had all ear tests, MRI, CT. Nothing found. Take valium, mech lizine, but it doesn't go away. Any?
Try balance center: In my area of the country we have a balance center which I tell my patients is like physical therapy for the inner ear. They show you excercises and positioning to move the little crystals or "rocks" in the inner ear that stimulate the little nerve endings that make you feel dizzy. This assumes that everything else is normal ie no menerie's or acoustic neuroma. ...Read more

Can Valium cause extremely blurred vision where you can't see? . He has had two MRIs and checked by an eye Dr and they can't find anything wrong?
Yes: That is a reported side effect and if extreme can be a sign of allergic reaction to the drug. This is made more severe if taken in combo w/ alcohol. Definitely discuss the possibility of other Rx for anxiety - even more - consider non-drug techniques to manage anxiety. CBT, meditation, yoga, etc. Valium allergy can be very dangerous! ...Read more
Valium (diazepam) is an older benzodiazepine tranquilizer. It was the #1 prescribed drug (of any kind) in the us in the late 1960s but is used less now due to drug interactions and active metabolites. It is still used for anxiety and as "pre-medication" for uncomfortable medical and minor surgical procedures. It is habit-forming, should not be used with alcohol, ...Read more
