I am 23 years old and I noticed a small movable lump under the skin right next to my right hip bone. It doesn't hurt but should I be worried?

I am 23 years old and I noticed a small movable lump under the skin right next to my right hip bone. It doesn't hurt but should I be worried?

Hard to say: If you have a soft tissue lesion anywhere that you have noticed, it bears observation. Lesions that are increasing in size, especially rapidly, or those associated with increasing pain, are concerns for malignancy. Is it possible that my pilonidal cyst is just a collection of hair and skin debris causing a solid movable lump under the skin by the tailbone?

Yes: That is possible, but it should be examined. A chronic infection with intermittent drainage is common, and managing it before it becomes a worse infection is desireable, although not always possible. See a general surgeon for a consultation, and ask if they have experience with pilonidal cyst treatment. Hope this helps! ...Read more

I have a varicose vein in my leg, now ive discovered a pea sized lump (not movable) under my skin where the varicose vein is. Tumor?? so scared

Keep an eye on it: I would not worry about it right now. But do check it once weekly and monitor its size. Unless it grows bigger over the next 1-2 months, it is unlikely to be a serious matter. I suspect it is a small clot of blood which should subside in a month or two. If it does not get smaller or if it grows bigger, get it checked by your doctor.. ...Read more
