Oral cancer: Cancer is not episodic in nature... it does not "come and go". That being said, have your dentist take a look at what might be causing this little red bump. You might be biting your tongue with the sharp edge of a tooth, or the lesion may need to be further investigated. Better to have it looked at. ...Read more

Unlikely: The lesion could be a canker sore or from trauma. Without a history (age/smoking/tobacco/alcohol use?) and exam +/- biopsy, it is difficult to say for sure, but few docs would worried about a lesion that has been there only 4 days. If the lesion persists more than a couple weeks definitely see your dentist/pmd/ent/oral surgeon. If you are using tobacco and quit now you may avoid effects. ...Read more

Go see: Any visualized change in your mouth should be evaluated. Please see your Dentist or an Oral Surgeon for evaluation. Wouldn't it be wonderful to be told there's nothing to worry about?
