Oral cancer: Cancer is not episodic in nature... it does not "come and go". That being said, have your dentist take a look at what might be causing this little red bump. Unlikely: The lesion could be a canker sore or from trauma. Without a history (age/smoking/tobacco/alcohol use?) and exam +/- biopsy, it is difficult to say for sure, but few docs would worried about a lesion that has been there only 4 days.
