Very unlikely: It sounds as if you are worried about lyme disease. Deer ticks are potential carriers of lyme disease, human anaplasmosis and babesiosis. Lyme disease can cause very disabling permanent effects; death has been reported, but would be unusual. Anaplasmosis and babesiosis would not be considered deadly. Bumps, scapes, sun: Since I have rafted many rivers including the poudre river (prounouced 'poo-der') in colorado many risks are assumed. First you may fall out of the raft and injure yourself so scapes/bruises are common. Helmets & life vests are standard on the poudre.
