I took ibuprofen for 4 days due to sickness. 2 days after I had insomnia. I've taken one for a headache tonight. How long will the insomnia last?
Is it ok to take 800 mg of Advil (ibuprofen) (600 plain advil (ibuprofen) and 1 200 advil (ibuprofen) pm) nightly? It's about the only thing works for my insomnia!
Be careful: Usually it is the diphenhydramine in the Advil PM that helps sleep. Unless you also have pain that is keeping you up, you don‘t need the ibuprofen/advil part of it. You could develop tolerance where the diphenhydramine can quit working if you take daily. It is also considered a potentially unsafe medication because of your age. Talk to your doctor. ...Read more
Can I take Advil (ibuprofen) pm if I took adderral and an ecstasy almost 3 weeks ago but have insomnia because of withdrawal even though it was my first time ?
I have had insomnia for months now .i have tried zolpidem, cold med. Capsules for night time. Trazedone, ibuprofen pm. None seem to work at all any mo?
You need proper exam: The treatment of insomnia is not simply taking a pill to go to sleep. That is not TREATING insomnia. That's trying to make you sleep which may have worked in the beginning. What needs to be addressed are the physical, psychological, metabolic problems which could be causing insomnia and to treat those. See sleep specialist for more specific approach. Is it ok to take suboxone-- I take 8mg x 2 film once a day in the AM-- and an OTC sleep med-- Advil (ibuprofen) PM, ZzzQuil-- at nite? Having trouble sleeping.
Generally yes.: In general it is medically acceptable to take suboxone with an OTC sleep med. You should however clear this OTC sleep med with the provider who prescribed the suboxone. This provider should have a pain agreement in place and taking certain medicines without his/her knowledge could violate that agreemeent. Bad shoulder bursitis. Heating pad, ice, ibuprofen or cortisone pills not working. Any exercises to help? Very bad pain, cannot sleep from the pain .
Tricky: The shoulder is an incredible joint. However, with injury, we try to stop moving it. Thus, it has a tendency to stiffen up and make movement painful. It is often difficult to judge if it is the injury or the lack of movement that is more painful. Talk to your doctor and therapist and they will direct you to either push through, or rest. ...Read more

Addressing all these issues at the same time can help the child sleep better. ...Read more
My friend 24 was unable to sleep last night w/ menstrual cramps. Can take tylenol (acetaminophen) but not ibuprofen & allergic to red dye, what are alternatives?
Hard to know: Depends on the nature of the ibuprofen allergy. Are all NSAIDs "off the table"? Sometimes, if really just a hypersensitivity to normal pharmacological side effects (which can include hives in the case of nsaids), then co-management of the side effects is possible if nsaids are needed. If ibuprofen specific allergy, then naproxen may be tolerated (otc). Also, tylenol (acetaminophen) without red dye is available. ...Read more
Was not sleeping well stressed about workload and feeling off like ear inf., why would i be prescribed lorazapam vs trying Advil (ibuprofen) pm or exercise. Std ?
Lorazepam: This is a question you need to ask the physician who evaluated you for your problems. It's both impossible and unfair to "second-guess" the reasons something was prescribed, when we weren't present during your evaluation. We didn't see how you were at that time, and cannot possibly know all the factors your physician noted when prescribing as s/he did. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Many: First, some people may be allergic to Ibuprofen in which case it would contraindicated. Severe skin reactions can and should be followed up by your doctor. Because it weakly inhibits platelets, it can cause symptoms of abdominal pain and GI bleeding; as it is metabolized mostly through the kidney, it can cause symptoms of impaired kidney function. It can also cause symptoms of bruising. ...Read more
