Both are good: Tylenol (acetaminophen) has fewer reported complications so may be a bit 'safer' but Motrin is going to be more effective in reducing a fever. For a non-fever minor pain situation like teething, i'd use tylenol (acetaminophen) first but if that doesn't help Motrin would be most likely fine assuming you are carefully observing dosing recommendations. ...Read more
