Would a home-made formula of coconut water, soaked chia seeds and almond milk contain enough omega-3 for a 1-month-old baby? Also adding vit and min

My 8.5 mo daughter is on formula and begun solid foods. Can we feed her formula with added sucrose? Adding sugar to simple starch, any implications?

My 8.5 mo daughter is on formula and begun solid foods. Can we feed her formula with added sucrose? Adding sugar to simple starch, any implications?

Please don't do it: Adding sugar to formula will only cause trouble. Formula is made to address the needs of infants. If babies have additional caloric requirements or starch needs, it isn't accomplished with sucrose. Adding sugar will cause not only weight gain but will also cause dental trouble, even if the baby has no teeth yet. Other metabolic consequences may also occur. Please discuss with pediatrician. ...Read more
