Depends: Most prescribed or recommended by an experienced OB will have little effect on baby. Even those with some hydrocodone will not pass into the milk in enough quantity to bother baby if used cautiously. Some sedation would be expected if you use the maximum amount prescribed. I've seen one baby admitted for low body temperature and weakness when hydrocodone containing med was taken every 4 hr. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

My wife is breastfeeding 10 months old daughter. Now she is again pregnant. Could she continue breastfeeding and what will be the effects on babies.
Why are infants advised to stop drinking formula at 12 months? What can happen of my baby starts drinking cow milk at 11 months?
Misunderstanding: Cow's milk is allowed at 12 months but this doesn't mean formula has to be stopped at 12 months. A protein in the cow's milk called "heat labile protein" causes occult bleeding from infants' intestine and results in anemia.
