Mother Over 35 Years Old (Overview)

It is no longer unusual for women to wait until they are in their late 30s or early 40s to have their first child. Many women have successful pregnancies into their early 40s, but there are increased risks associated with later-age pregnancies.

Flow vs volume: The volume of the distended bladder can influence the force of urination. Your perception of a "slow" stream at night may just reflect a low voided volume. As a female, unless there are issues of urinary tract infection or incontinence, i would generally not be worried about force of urinary stream. ...Read more

My first baby is 2 years old and i'm working mother, should I have another baby now?

Personal Question: Are there other factors that worry you? Choosing when to have your next child is a very personal question. Dementia?: The same thing happens to me, and i'm only 55! i can't tell from your question whether this is the only cognitive problem she has (in which case she may just be unhappy that she's 91) or if she's having other cognitive problems or memory loss, in which case she may be developing dementia. If you're worried about dementia, you should have her evaluated for reversible or treatable causes. ...Read more

My mother-law is 86 years old. Her short term memory has significantly decreased. How fast does dimentia progress?

Very Variable: Sorry, but dementia types are so different and even vary greatly within a type that it's impossible to predict. Even overall health is not a strong predictor, but it can suggest the need for extra care. Have an evaluation by a neurologist - that may tell you more. It can be very difficult but sometimes people bear it well. A good geriatric specialist can teach and guide you all through this time. ...Read more
