Ketoconazole: Ketoconazole is my preference. Apply 2x/day for 1-2 weeks, and then you can use a couple of times/week as maintenance/prevention. Short term use of 1% hydrocortisone cream 1-2/x day can be used for a few days also to minimize redness and irritation. Not much difference: The 3 topical formulations (gel, cream, lotion) available offer little difference for skin type...They just feel a bit different during application because of different consistency, but otherwise they all dry out relatively quickly and thus probably won't make much of a difference for you. Go see a doctor: You need to have this cultured to rule out fungus/bacteria. Try soaking in black tea for 10 minutes. Make a strong batch of tea and let cool, then soak. The tannic acid can help.
