While most dreams: occur in REM sleep, dreams may occur any time in the cycle. Stress, medications, substances, alcohol, foods, etc. may increase likelihood. Stress reduction and anxiety management measures may help. Use fantasy to rewrite your dreams and train your brain to be calm. Sleep maintance ....: Need more details but looks like..Sleep maintance difficulty so keep same sleep wake cycle, avoid caffeine in afternoon and any day time naps. Sleep restriction therapy and not to sleep in bed or stay in bed , if cannot fall/stay a sleep >15 min. Look for any medication side effect if on. Melatonin at bed time can be tried. See a sleep dr: What does a 'normal' sleep study mean. To some that means 'no apnea' which is not the only finding to be gained. What was the quality like, what were the latencies of sleep and rem and were there parasomnia. Sometimes it is not a problem that can be identified based on a sleep study. ...Read more

Forget natural: Bottom line is that so called "natural" or non regulated, non-pharmacological products are not going to work for you. You need a formal sleep study to see why you can't sleep. I know we have lost faith in our health care system because it is all about mak.ing insurance companies rich, but the science goes on and science does have a solution for your problem.
