Is diarrhea a normal symptom of morning sickness?

I experience symptoms of interstitial cystitis and diarrhea. This morning I am having pain in my lower right back that gets bad and goes away.

IC: Interstitial cystitis can be a very tricky disease to properly diagnose. Unless you've been evaluated by a urologist, i wouldn't assume that diagnosis. Diarrhea is a seperate issue altogether most of the time. ...Read more

More than malaria: It sounds like there could be more than one problem here. GI symptoms like you describe could be due to other diseases that co-occur in malaria endemic areas. I would recommend getting additional lab tests ASAP since it sounds like you're quite debilitated from all this. You run the risk of severe dehydration and resultant complications. I would go to an ER/urgent care center. Hope you feel better ...Read more

I've had diarrhea for 3 days now, and started having cramping feeling this morning. My last period ended Oct 1st, could these be ovulation symptoms?

Probably not: Sounds like a common GI virus. Avoid spice foods, and you can buy Imodium (loperamide) OTC to control the diarrhea If symptoms persist give your Primary Care Provider a call. Enterovirises are common this time of year (Used to be called "stomach flu". Also, if polyps are resected and/or burned-off due to bleeding there may be post- procedural pains. As normal bowel activity re- sumes the gas will be expelled and there may be diarrhea. If pain or diarrhea persist call your supervising health practicioner. ...Read more

She recently started Prozac(2 weeks ago),Prilosec(3weeks), and now Lactaid. Started vomiting this morning and diarrhea. No fever or other symptoms. ?

Not the vomiting: Is related to meds. Prozac (fluoxetine) can cause chronic nausea but not diarrhea. Prilosec can cause diarrhea but not vomiting. Lactose intolerance can cause both, though taking Lactaid is supposed to treat that condition. I would stop everything and start over beginning with the Prilosec. You haven't been on Prozac (fluoxetine) long enough to withdraw. ...Read more
