No and yes: Singulair (montelukast) is widely considered to be exceedingly safe. 2% of the time or less, side effects such as dizziness, abdominal discomfort, liver stress, skin rash or weakness occur and it can worsen lung/respiratory/nasal disease about 1% of the time. NOT a rescue medication for asthma. Very rarely; it is reported to have unusual neuropsych effects (suicidal ideation, hallucination, agitation, etc) ...Read more
