Not really: But you need to keep the follow up with your doctor, both drugs aren't known for the side effects you noted, Singular may cause liver problems, but not related to long term use rather due to a reaction by some patients even after few doses, rare. If you have chronic allergies, you need an allergist evaluation with regular follow up as you may need different approach, check aaaai. Org for an allergist

I am taking montelukast for allergies and it is working well. Are there any long term side effects to taking that medication every day?
Is Singulair (montelukast) as dangerous as Google makes it out to be? My Dr wanted me to try it for my allergies but I'm scared to after reading side effects listed!
No and yes: Singulair (montelukast) is widely considered to be exceedingly safe. 2% of the time or less, side effects such as dizziness, abdominal discomfort, liver stress, skin rash or weakness occur and it can worsen lung/respiratory/nasal disease about 1% of the time. NOT a rescue medication for asthma. Very rarely; it is reported to have unusual neuropsych effects (suicidal ideation, hallucination, agitation, etc)
