Will using mucinex (guaifenesin) dm help with bronchitis and asthma was prescribe prednisone 20mg ariythomicin 250mg for 7 days om gor 4 daytake pro air and advair?
Doubtful: The "active" ingredient in Mucinex (guaifenesin) is guaiafenisin. It has been hawked by drug huxters as an expectorant for for over 50 years-- something wonderful for loosening up phlegm so you can cough it up from your congested lungs. When the AMA Drug Evaluations was published in 1980, pharm companies were aghast, because it evaluated which drugs worked best. This one was "at least as good as a placebo". ...Read more

Can i take cold eeze tabs for throat. Delsym (dextromethorphan) for cough and sudafed pe for stuffy head. All together?
If not double-dosing: A person can usually briefly take different over-the-counter "cold" medications, as long as she reads the labels and does not accidentally double-dose on an ingredient. Watch for acetominophen (tylenol) and Ibuprofen (motrin, advil) in the multi-ingredient medications. A person with a sore throat should check with her doctor to see if she has a strep throat infection, or other "treatable" illness. ...Read more

Peds Sinusitis: Sounds like a pretty unhappy child, sorry about that. Lots of meds, too. We usually try to manage pediatric sinusitis with medications, like antibiotics and steroids. Can also use saline irrigation or spray in the nose. Further, a landmark study has shown that many children suffer from reflux and by treating, they often can get their sinusitis better. Consider reflux treatment and add saline. ...Read moreSee 4 more doctor answers
13yr old son , croupy cough for three weeks also has mucous on amox/clav, prednisone, Bromfed dm, xopenex (levalbuterol) but no major improvemnet can this be pnemoni
Unlikely: The fact that the cough is croupy indicates that the vocal cords are involved. However, given the lack of response to a multitude of treatments makes me wonder if the cough could be whooping cough. Obviously your son has seen a physician, but i would suggest the possibility of whooping cough. The diagnosis can be made by checking pertussis antibody titers. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
