What's your advice to eat after IVF to garantee better result and do you recommend a normal lifestyle or is it better to relax during this period?
Normal Balanced Life: Just be normal; eat healthy, take breaks at work and rest, take it easy at home and try to have a stress free life. Usually just a day or two rest after the embryo transfer is more than enough. At our center we do not recommend sex or lifting above 20 lbs until after the pregnancy test is performed (there is no medical evidence that this improves pregnancy rates but we recommend anyway). ...Read more
During IVF in Dec13, I was put on prednisolone & gained 10kgs after & still gaining. Not able to lose any weight. How can I lose the stubborn kgs?
Weight gain: Weight gain from medications seems to always be tough to lose. Our metabolism seems to slow a little more and we have to work even harder. Metabolically weight is simple use more calories than you take in. There is really no other way to do it. So you need to increase your output and decrease your input. Freeze all?: A very high e2 is a risk factor for ohss. You could freeze all embryos to prevent getting pregnant. The HCG of pregnancy is a huge risk factor for ohss. I would ask yr doc: Ivf can be stressful and there is an inclination to get obsessed with details. I'm not saying that's you and it is important to be informed. It sounds like you need reassurance of your level but there can be some fluctuations and i'm not sure there is a best level. Cold and IVF: If you are having , mild flu like symptoms, there may not be any need to worry about transfer. However, if you are feverish or having severe symptoms, it may be better to freeze the embryos and plan a transfer when you aren't ill.
