Monitoring Blood Pressure
I've been monitoring blood pressure. When it drops below 90s/50s i feel confused, shaky, anxious, so I eat salt and it normalizes. What is happening?
Abnormal BP: that BP is low and is abnormal especially if you're feeling lousy with it. You definitely should discuss with your provider - they may find it worthwhile to perform blood pressures in different positions (lying down, seated, standing) or they may clarify how often and when to check your BP at home. Bring your cuff with you to the visit so they can make sure it's accurate. ...Read more

Hi is a blood pressure reading of 124/86 and 131/92 and 125/88 acceptable I'm 39 and my doctor has asked me to monitor blood pressure at home.
Blood pressure: "Normal" blood pressure should be <140/90. Ideally, it should be closer to 120/70. For you, it's the diastolic (second) reading that is slightly elevated, but not into a worrisome or dangerous range. The best thing for you is to try to fix this now by making diet/lifestyle changes to avoid meds later. Stop smoking, limit salt, eliminate fast/processed foods, exercise, lose weight if you're heavy. ...Read more

ER and Gp checked EKG, holter monitor, blood pressure and bloods and all normal. But I get a lot of left shoulder pain(especially when laughing) ?
PLeurisy: Left shoulder pain when laughing Is suggestive of musculoskeletal origin or perhaps esophygeal. I know the kidney monitors blood pressure, water, waste and hormones but will these hormones effect personality if it is disrupted?
It's possible. : Although the hormones made by the kidney are primarily involved in creating blood cells and regulating blood pressure, we know this is a complex organ with many functions that are unknown to science. We see that dialysis patients, who require artificial kidneys to cleanse their blood, have neurohormonal, psychomotor, and mood issues that clearly relate to the decreased function of the kidney. ...Read more

See doctor: I would keep monitoring it. If it stays within the range you take, probably it spikes when you see a dentist due to apprehension and fear of dental procedures. As far as palpitations, do you have them frequently? If you, you need to see your doctor for evaluation. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
