How can I get rid of molluscum contagiosum or water warts?

How can I get rid of molluscum contagiosum or water warts?

Molluscum: Usually no treatment is needed because the bumps disappear by themselves within 6-12 months. If not, treatment options include cryotherapy, curettage, laser, creams like salicylic acid, podophyllin, tretinoin, cantharidin, and imiquimod, or oral cimetidine.

I m 25 male, I have HPV warts small, molluscum contagiosum and herpes outbreak together recently...I am scared too much. I got HIV test negative. Help?

See Your Doctor: It is good that you got tested for hiv, although it can take 6 weeks or more before you may show positive from a particular encounter. You need to be tested for other more common stds (gc, chlamydia, syphilis) and make sure the diagnosis of what you have is correct. Medication can shorten the symptoms of the herpes, treatment can resolve the molluscum, and help control the hpv.

Would using Dr. Scholl's Freeze-Away Wart Removal be okay to use on Molluscum Contagiosum in the genital region? Will it leave scars?

Would using Dr. Scholl's Freeze-Away Wart Removal be okay to use on Molluscum Contagiosum in the genital region? Will it leave scars?

Be specific: You will not want to use this on or near the labia. You could try it on the pubic area. Any irritation can speed the clearing of molluscum. Mild irritation will leave no scars. These are not true warts. They are a pox virus with 2 types. One type infects mostly children, the other is sexually transmitted. If you do nothing they will usually clear in a few months. If you need help, the best is derm

Today I went to hospital to check the warts in my genital area and the dr told me it is Molluscum contagiosum and he remove it by foreceps, is it HPV?

Today I went to hospital to check the warts in my genital area and the dr told me it is Molluscum contagiosum and he remove it by foreceps, is it HPV?

Not HPV: No, HPV stands for Human Papilloma Virus. Molluscum contagiosum (MC) is caused by the pox virus. MC is acquired by direct physical contact and is usually self-limited. HPV can cause genital warts which look different than the MC lesions.

Can the viruses that cause genital herpes, genital warts, and molluscum contagiosum also cause bumps on the face or lips?

Can the viruses that cause genital herpes, genital warts, and molluscum contagiosum also cause bumps on the face or lips?

Yes: The virus you mentioned can affect the skin anywhere in the body. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex. Get HPV vaccine.

4yr old with molluscum on abdomen for 6 months. Do not want to do freeze or anything that will hurt him. Would liquid wart remover work?

4yr old with molluscum on abdomen for 6 months. Do not want to do freeze or anything that will hurt him. Would liquid wart remover work?

Wart magic: Molluscum warts like all warts caused by viruses. They are difficult to control. You can try a liquid wart remover. Another trick is to cover the wart with a square of duct tape and secure the duct tape on the skin with any tape designed for the skin as duct tape does not stick well to skin. Cover it for about and week or until irritation is noted. Hope this helps.

Molluscum has returned, had them scraped 4 months ago. This area is new. Her skin under the bumps is cracked and red. Can I still use wart remover?

Pox virus: Molluscum is not from the same virus as genital warts (hpv). Molluscum is a pox virus infection. If the skin surrounding is red and cracked, I would not use wart remover. See your gyn as the underlying skin might have a skin infection.

Can I still shave if I have molluscum contagiosum?

Molluscum: The virus lives only in the skin and once the growths are gone, the virus is gone and you cannot spread the virus to others. Molluscum contagiosum is not like herpes viruses, which can remain dormant (“sleeping”) in your body for long periods and then reappear. So, assuming you do not come in contact with another infected person, once all the molluscum contagiosum bumps go you are not contagious.
