Many factors: Some tibial fractures are slow to heal, particularly those involving the front (anterior cortex). Are you a smoker or a diabetic? Healing is slower with smokers and diabetics. Ibuprofen and other nsaids may slow bony healing. Tylenol (acetaminophen) is fine. Are you following the recommendations of your physician with regards to bracing, weight-bearing status, etc? Impact of leg fx: I am sorry to hear this. Within a 3 day period you can develop symptoms of depressed and anxious mood. Hopefully this will not become a major depressive episode or an anxiety disorder. There is a lot that you can't do with a broken leg- this is the time to accept & request help from others. Tons of folks have bone length discrepancies in millimeters that aren't issues if they get the right care. Don't kno what a-: -characteristic "ankle bone " is, but if it the medial tip of the tibia, it means an external rotation injury, first 2 go is the medial ligament, or avulsion Fx as U describe.
