Started having interdose withdrawals with 2 mg of Ativan divided dose. --dr switched me to 1 mg of klonopin (clonazepam) divided dose ..does this make sense?
Yes: Ativan 2mg is the maximum dose that can be safely given at any one time, so this places patients at greater risk of uncomfortable withdrawl symptoms until the next dose is administered. Furthermore, Klonopin (clonazepam) is easier to manage and tolerate than Ativan because it has a longer half life, or a longer time that its chemicals remain effective in the human body. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
What would be the effects of taking 2 mgs of lorazapam 1st dose for stress and no sleep some signs of anxiety, was given this dose by mistake.
Lorazepam: Effects of 2 mg Lorazepam depend on the person receiving it -- how anxious he is, how accustomed he is to this dose, other medications he's on, whether he's also drinking alcohol or using other drugs, whether he has chronic mental health problems, etc. If you're habituated to lorazepam, 2 mg will not phase you. It new to it, it could induce relaxation and drowsiness. ...Read more

What are the likely effects of 2 mgs vs .2 mgs of lorazapam initial dose - could that be harmful if taken without tritation
Odd question: Using lorazapam or any other medication should be by prescription, and as your doctor directs. Using more than prescribed could lead to more sedation than is safe. Other medications or substances being used -- and existing medical conditions -- may worsen the danger. Ask your prescribing physician about your particular situation. ...Read more

What's the dosage equivelant of 100mg Zoloft to the same amount of paxil (paroxetine). I'm aware Paxil (paroxetine) only comes in 20mg, 30mg and 40mg doses.?
No equivilency: They are both in the ssri family of anti-depressants/anti-anxiety medications but are different chemicals and are metabolized differently. Also, often highly individual responses are seen with this family of drugs. If zoloft works for you, Paxil (paroxetine) may not work well. You also may experience new, unwanted side effects. If necessary to change, start at a low dose and titrate to effective dose. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Can 5-HTP (100mg) be used safely with 7.g per day of buspirone? Just came off of 20 mg citalopram 2 weeks ago.
Drug interaction: I hope you are asking about 7 mg of buspirone, not 7 grams. Buspirone usually is dispensed as 7.5 mg to 30 mg/ day. 5-HTP is usually a safe dose to be taken daily, however the interaction between 5 HTP and buspirone can cause nausea. Ask the prescriber of the buspirone whether they think you should be taking these two meds together. ...Read more

Any major risks with a combo of 300 mg of bupropion, 20 mg of escitalopram and adding 20 mg of omeprazole? risk of serotonin syndrome or seizure?
Theory yes Serotonin: Omeprazole is a MILD blocker of liver metabolism (and 20 is low dose). Those are average doses of two antidepressants. They have a WIDE margin of safety. So, serotonin syndrome (two antidepressants both raising serotonin) or seizures (too much welbutin) is a conceivable concern. But it sure isn't likely. Unless there's something else to cause seizures or other serotonin drugs. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
