Numbness paresthesia: It is likely that while you are asleep in certain body positions that you are obviously unaware of, that you are temporarily blocking blood flow to your leg or compressing a nerve. Both can cause transient paresthesias ( pins and needles) that resolve once blood flow is resumed or the irritating noxious stimuli (i.e. Compression ) to your extremity is resolved or with activity. ...Read more
2ultrasounds,blood work, lung ct,chest xray=no blood clot. Calf has aching pain on&off. Toes have pins&needles feeling. Upperback pain. Missed DVT?
Not likely: the most common reason why someone would have aching in the calves is musculoskeletal. Try doing calf stretching and hamstring stretching. See an Osteopath or try looking at your activity level. With the work up you have had, I would not be fixated on a blood clot without some other compelling reason. ...Read more

I have left arm pain radiates to hand. Hand veins bulge more than right. Blood clot? Negative d dimer. Ultrasound on legs came back negative as well.
Upper Arm DVT?: This can be a sign of an upper arm deep venous thrombosis (dvt). These are somewhat unusual in a young lady, so certainly i agree with the possibility of a thoracic outlet syndorme (tos), particularly a sub-entity of it called "effort thrombosis" or "paget-schroetter syndrome." this is often associated with swelling of the arm, bulging veins, and a feeling of arm heaviness. ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers

22yo female, woke up from nap with numb legs, progressive cold/wet sensation traveled up from toes to thighs bilaterally, lasted 10 min. Causes?
Compression: Since your symptoms are related to a position (lying down, sleeping) it is probably a compression neuropathy. This is probably due to the Sciatic nerve (it runs from your gluets down the back of your legs) being pinched while you were laying down. People typically refer to their foot or leg "falling asleep". This is the most likely cause of transient, bilateral numbness in a 22y/o ...Read more
Period normal, then woke up & felt stabbing pain in uterus. Uterus & ovary area burns/hurts. Clots. Hurts so bad, I cry out when stab pains hit. Help!
Clots? Infection?: Severe pain like this that starts during a period can be an infection in the uterus and tubes. Infections flare during a period because blood is a perfect growth substrate for bacteria. Its actually what is used in the lab to grow bacteria. Large clots coming through the cervix can also cause labor like pain. If this degree of period pain isn't common for you and its persistent, see an Ob/Gyn. ...Read more
Numbness left arm & leg gradual onset started about a month ago more rapidly moving up my left arm into neck & further down my left leg too? Nerves?
Neuropathy: Numbness can be the result of a mechanical assault on nerves (ie pinched nerves in the neck or spine), or from systemic abnormalities such as B12 deficiency or thyroid dysfunction. Medications can contribute to the problem as well. It can even result from abnormalities of the brain itself. A number of tests exist to establish a cause and can be ordered by your primary care physician. ...Read more

Hypnagogic Jerk: No, that's not an insult, but the name for the phenomenon of an involuntary muscle spasm that occurs as a person is drifting off to sleep. Others think it is the brain misinterpreting relaxing muscles as falling which causes the muscles to react. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Fell down stairs, hurt forearm/elbow. was bruised and swollen for 2.5wks. 3mos later, I still get sharp shooting pain after light use. Get x-Ray?
First see your Dr.: After any trauma that occurs, especially fall injuries down staircases requires that you see your doctor for evaluation, and to make sure you haven't injured bones, tendons, muscles strain, or ligaments. An x-ray will rule out fracture, but an MRI will show soft tissue injury. So your doctor will determine which one you need. Then, you'll need realignment to get everything back in order.Don't wait. ...Read more

Transverse myleitis. Fluid in r.Knee monday night. Early clotty period tues. Shooting pain kower r.Leg now?
Radiculopathy: Shooting pain like you're describing often comes from injury to peripheral nerves or nerve roots. So, i realize you have transverse myelitis, which could cause pain, but the history you provide actually fits best with a lumbar nerve root being pinched as it exits the spinal canal. Consider getting MRI or x-ray of your lumbosacral spine, and of course have your neurologist examine you. Good luck! ...Read more
