Depends. . .: So you missed 2 pills and you're bleeding. It's not clear whether you missed 2 active pills (1st 3wks of pack) or 2 inactive (sugar) pills (last wk or so of 28d pack). If latter, then your period is your period & should stop after usual number of days. If former, your extra bleeding is due to throwing off your hormones. Check out https://goo. Gl/lbnceY, http://goo. You can try it: Irregular spotting is typical of Progesterone only birth control pills. Most do not have regular periods on these pills. This is one of the side effects. Many people prefer to take a combined oral contraceptive containing Estrogen and Progesterone to avoid the spotting and to provide cycle regulation. You can try stopping the pill for 5-7 days to trigger a cycle. Avoid intercourse during that time ...Read more

When: When you stop taking pills, your period usually comes right away or within a few days. My guess is that you had some bleeding at the time of stopping them and are due for another period now or within a few weeks. It is normal for periods to be a bit irregular sometimes in young women.

I missed 2 birth control pills and I started to have my period, if I carry on taking the pills will my period stop or should I just stop taking them?

I missed 2 birth control pills and I started to have my period, if I carry on taking the pills will my period stop or should I just stop taking them?

Hard to say: In theory, it should stop the period, and I would recommend restarting the pills - if you still want to use them and need them for birth control. That way you won't have to wait, and restart them again sometimes in the future. I would recommend using a back-up method for the next month (just as a precaution, technically, you 'should' be protected after missing only 2 pills, but why take a chance? ...Read more
