Diarrhea w/Cytotec: Misoprostol may cause mild to moderate diarrhea, stomach cramps, and/or nausea. These problems usually occur during the first few weeks of treatment, subsiding after about a week. The occurrence of diarrhea may be minimized by taking misoprostol with food. Black stool however raises the possibility of GI bleeding--any symptoms to so suggest?

Big life decisions: Are you happy when you are lied to? Do keep that in mind if you lie to your doctor or to other people. In the US, we are a free people living in a free society, which means there is no reason to lie about pregnancy or abortion. Plan life so that unexpected pregnancies do not happen. But if they do, a couple can decide with the doctor whether or not to get rid of their baby fetus, but avoid lying.

I recently had a missed miscarriage that required three rounds of cytotec (misoprostol). Bleeding stopped after two weeks and began passim more tissue. Normal?

Miscarriage: At this time you should have a quant. Hcg and an ultrasound. The HCG will indicate if embryonic tissue is still present. You may have a molar pregnancy. This a tumor like problem that occurs with the placental tissue. Also, these symptoms/signs could be a normal variant

Why is my doctor prescribing cytotec (misoprostol) 200mg if he said everything came out during my miscarriage?

Why is my doctor prescribing cytotec (misoprostol) 200mg if he said everything came out during my miscarriage?

Decrease bleeding: Cytotec (misoprostol) can cause contractions and therefore cause your uterus to shrink quicker and therefore cause less bleeding to occur.

Missed miscarriage, 6.5 wks took cytotec at 11wks to abort. 6wks later HCG 59, had methotrexate. 3wks later still have HCG of 34. Why won't it go down?

Missed miscarriage, 6.5 wks took cytotec at 11wks to abort. 6wks later HCG 59, had methotrexate. 3wks later still have HCG of 34. Why won't it go down?

It should over time: Methotrexate causes slow deterioration of the HCG producing chorionic villi and as a result serial HCG's are done to note if the result is trending downward or not.

Is it possible that a miscarriage of only 3 weeks can remain in the uterus after using misoprostol? Is there any thing that can be done

Is it possible that a miscarriage of only 3 weeks can remain in the uterus after using misoprostol? Is there any thing that can be done

Miscarriage; RPOC: If all the products of conception are not passed, the retained tissues (fetus, membranes, placenta) can lead to significant prolonged bleeding, pelvic pain, fever, even infection. Procedure called either erpc or a D&C (dilation & curettage) removes any residual tissue to restore normal menstrual cycles, eliminate pain, & prevent infection. Gyn can explain procedure in more detail.
