Check for pregnancy: One should always be suspicious of pregnancy with no period and you should at least check with home test or at doctor's office. If negative then a workup by your dr should be done. ...Read more

See your OB GYN: you either become pregnant again if you had unprotected sex between 8/30 and 10/15 or you still have live piece of placenta remain since your last miscarriage either way you need to see your OB GYN for proper evaluation and treatment ...Read more

Spotting : Spotting can be a sign of pregnancy, so you might want to take a home pregnancy test. As doctors, the first thing we do when we hear that a fertile woman is having a missed period or abnormal spotting, we check a pregnancy test. You can either take a home pregnancy test as long as it has been 5- 6 weeks since your last normal period, or you can go see your doctor and they can test you. A home pregnancy test is 97% accurate if taken a week or more after the missed period and a doctor's test can tell around when you should be getting your next period. There are other reasons besides pregnancy that can cause a woman to miss a period such as: stress, diet, excessive exercise or a hormone imbalance such as with a thyroid disorder or polycystic ovarian syndrome. If you continue to have an irregular cycle, you should give your doctor or your ob/gyne a call. Good luck! ...Read more

Need a plan: I am sorry to hear about the miscarriage. The next step is to develop a treatment plan with your doctor. Generally options include waiting for it to pass naturally, surgical removal via a D and C or taking medication to help the medication pass. There is not a set amount of time scientifically proven to determine how fast the miscarriage must pass. ...Read more

No: I'm sorry for your loss. While your numbers are not exactly clear to me (4 abortions @ 6-9wks followed by 3 miscarriages? for 7 pregnancies total?), there are few correctable/preventable or known causes of repeat miscarriages. Specialist: First you need a fertility specialist. There are some special tests you need. The uterus may be abnormal. Or the eggs may be abnormal. It may be very difficult to have a child and only a specialist would be able to figure things out and give you a chance to have a live birth. ...Read more

A few ideas: Most common reason for miscarriage is chromosomal abnormalities. Could be due to mother's egg, or father's sperm, or the combination of the two. Other reasons can include clotting disorders. If a woman has recurrent miscarriages, typically more than 3, she should see an ob/gyn or an infertility specialist to determine if there is an underlying cause that can be treated. Best of luck, . ...Read more
