Painful : Painful intercourse (and after) can be due to an infectious process (pelvic inflammatory disease usually due to gonorrhea or chlamydia), cervical or vaginal trauma, etc.. A ruptured ovarian cyst could possibly present this way, and a miscarriage would be associated with bleeding. If you are still symptomatic, you should see a doctor. A week or two: This depends on how far along you are. If this is a very early pregnancy, then the cramping and bleeding of a miscarriage can be nothing more than like a heavy period. However, if you know you have triplets, that means you're probably into it at least a couple of months, which means your body is going to need to expel all of those products of conception. Have you had ultrasound? Continue close follow up with your ob. Unfortunately what you are describing seems consistent with miscarriage likely due to blighted ovum (egg fertilized but viable pregnancy never happened).Sorry. ...Read more

Check it: Only way to know for sure is to go ahead and check the pregnancy hormones. If you are trying to get pregnant and can't, it may be worth pursuing further. If not, then don't worry about it too much. Probably would do well to use some birth control. ...Read more
