Mirena Spotting 8 Weeks
Had Mirena (levonorgestrel) in 8 months ago to treat heavy period. Still light bleeding/spotting. 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off, 3 weeks on 2 weeks off. No heavy bleeding.
See your doctor: It is likely that everything is okay, but you need to be seen for evaluation. I would recommend that you undergo an ultrasound to insure the IUD is in the proper location and to make sure there are no intrauterine masses / lesions causing the irregular bleeding. Finally, a pregnancy test may be ordered. Hope this helps. ...Read more

Is it: implantation bleeding or mirena (levonorgestrel) removal side effect? It is probably due to hormonal fluctuations after removal of the mirena (levonorgestrel). It is also possible that this is a implantation bleeding although it is rare and the landing of the fertilized ovum to the inner uterine wall is atraumatic. Take a pregnancy test if your period is delayed. ...Read more
