Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more
I have mirena iud and am having pregnancy-like symptoms. I haven't had a period in 10 months, and have been sexually active. Should I take a test?
Period is 28 days late, neg test with no symptoms of pregnancy. Have had mirena IUD for 1.5 yr. Usually consistent periods. When should I call my doc?
No cause for alarm: Since your Mirena IUD is one of the most effective contraceptive methods and its hormones can decrease or eliminate your "vaginal bleeding" for months, the absence of "menstrual periods" is usually no cause for alarm. I am getting a mirena IUD next week. Should i ask for xanax (alprazolam)? And how much ibuprofin should I take beforehand? I've never had kids and I am 20.
Not necessarily: Unless you have an established anxiety disorder, you shouldn't need xanax (alprazolam). The insertion of the iud is quick; most women will feel a quick pinch when it is implanted. Some will have irritation of their cervix which can cause cramping. I would wait until after the procedure to see whether you need ibuprofen. ...Read more

Pregnancy with IUD: Sounds like you both are not on the same page. I recommend that you see a marriage counselor to resolve this because no matter what happens one of you will resent the other (more).
