I am a 44 yr old female with rapid hair loss, my mother experienced the same thing. I have tried eating more greens, rogaine (minoxidil) biotin 10k?

Ok: Minoxidil or rogaine (minoxidil) for women is a good start. However hair loss can be attribute to hormone, thyroid issues, vitamin issues, lupus to name a few. It's best to see your doctor for complete history and physical ...Read more

Yes: Rogaine (minoxidil) is an anti-andrigen agent while biotin is a vitamin. Different methods of action and affect. Hairfall is my concern. Doctor suggested meto use minoxidil 10% (tugain solution) and bionit plus tablets! Does biotin tablets helps? What to do? : (

Somewhat: I prefer rogain foam not solution, 90% of my patients experience burning with the solution but not the foam. Biotin supplements work better for nails, they make hair shaft stronger but the supplement doesn't increase hair growth. Its a common misconception. ...Read more

I don't like how ROGAINE (minoxidil) has to be used forever to maintain new hair growth. BIOTIN really made my thinning hair grow, after yrs not growing. It works?

Hair grows in cycles: Hair grows in a cycle. There is nothing you can apply now that will maintain efficacy several cycles from now. I am a fan of biotin, and always use it as an adjunct to treatment for thinning hair. I typically recommend a dose of 3000 mcg per day to see benefit in hair growth. If you don't want to use minoxidil, I have developed a product called ReTress that also helps. Find it at sephora. Com. ...Read more

I am 24 year old guy suffering from hair loss. I've been on biotin and rogaine medication for about 2 years, haven't seen noticeable difference. Help!

Often fails: Biotin isn't going to help. If you have alopecia areata, nothing will help. This is probably too long for telogen effluvium. Especially if you're naturally blessed with a lot of great body hair and a thick beard, rogaine may not slow male pattern baldness. Shave your head, grow some great facial hair, hit the gym, and embrace your full masculinity. Nothing looks better than a buffed, balding man. ...Read more

Is 1mg of biotin a lot?

Biotin: Biotin is vitamin b7, and is water-soluble. It most often comes in "mcg" doses -- there are 1000 mcg in 1 mg. Deficiencies are rare, as daily needs are small (around 50 mcg/day in adults) and it's abundant in food. Long-term antiseizure meds or antibiotics, intestinal malabsorption, & eating raw egg whites can lead to biotin deficiency. If you have one of these issues, 1mg is okay. ...Read more

Biotin is B7: Except in rare circumstances, everyone gets enough biotin in their diet. Is 7500 mcg to much biotin to tske everyday?

Probably: Did you know that biotin is a "B complex vitamin" but it is also known as Vitamin H? Confusing I know, but beside the point. The adequate adult dose of biotin is 30 mcg per day, but up to 2500mcg per day for hair/nail health. I wouldn't recommend more than that. Too much biotin will cause slower release of insulin, skin rashes, lower vitamin C and B6 levels and high blood sugar levels. ...Read more

Rogaine/minoxidil, how convenient is it actually?

Can Be Weak & Gr: Using OTC (over-the-counter) rogaine (minoxidil) can be effective, but many patients find it to be too weak, too messy and irritating to the scalp. For those patients, we often prescribe Compounded Minoxidil Formula 82M. It reduces the side effects of the off-the-shelf product (rogaine (minoxidil)) and therefore offers better ease of use and results. HairCheck hair bundle trichometry measurements prove the effectiveness! ...Read more
