I just started minigynon 30 about 19 days ago. Do I take the 7 day break or just start my new pack?

Minigynon: I assume the pack contains 28 pills, usually the first 21 days pills are active pills and the last week pills are inactive pills, so just continue the pack and start the next pack if you want to continue the contraception. Read more

Don't worry: You started a new pack a day early. No worries. Just keep taking your pills every day (but a day early) for the rest of the month. You can start again on Sunday with your next pack. Best wishes! Read more

Missed a pill on the first Saturday of my new pack. I usually take my pills at 9pm but I took it at 9am on Sunday morning am I ok?

Missed a pill on the first Saturday of my new pack. I usually take my pills at 9pm but I took it at 9am on Sunday morning am I ok?

Probably: If you are taking a combined estrogen/progesterone pill, and took all of the first 7 pills on time, the you will likely be ok. Unless you miss 3 pills of combined pills you shouldn't need back up contraception or Plan B. If you are taking the "mini" pill (progesterone only pill, micronor) then you will need a backup method of contraception for this cycle (condoms) with 1 missed dose to be safe. Read more

3 pills late in the first week, I took the EC after the second time late. How should I continue the next pack?

3 pills late in the first week, I took the EC after the second time late. How should I continue the next pack?

Forgetful: Anytime you forget to take a pill, you must use another form of birth control until you finish the pack.
If you forget to take a BCP, take it as soon as you remember. If you don, t remember until the next day take 2. If you forget for 2 days-take 2 pills that day and 2 pills the next day-you will then be back on schedule--missed > 2 days call you health care provider for instructions Read more

Will the combination pill still be effective if I forgot to take the first pill of the new pack? Should I take 2 the next day at the same time?

Will the combination pill still be effective if I forgot to take the first pill of the new pack? Should I take 2 the next day at the same time?

Take two: When you miss a pill there is no guarantee that ovulation will be suppressed during this cycle. The next best thing to do to lower the likelihood of ovulation is taking two pills. If there is no withdrawal bleeding at the end of the cycle, a home pregnancy test will clarify. Read more

Can I get pregnant if I missed my first inactive pill of the pack?

Can I get pregnant if I missed my first inactive pill of the pack?

Are you sure?: Some birth control pill have 21 active pills and 7 blanks. If you miss 1 or more pills during the 7 blank days, nothing will happen because these pills contain inactive ingredients only. But you must be sure it was not an active one. If it was, you have a slightly greater risk than otherwise. Do be more careful but you're probably okay. Best! Read more
