Many protein bars, etc add FOS (Fructo-oligosaccharides). Is it used for adding fiber in their product? Do they provide same benefit as fiber from foods?

Is just 1 fiber one bar a day healthy? I like the peanut butter one that has 9 grams of fiber. I eat that with banana and green apple
Neither good nor bad: A Fiber One bar is by itself neutral. It is not good enough to be called "healthy" (it is a highly processed food material), yet it is not bad enough to call "unhealthy". Therefore, whether a Fiber One bar is healthy or not will depend on what the person eats during the course of the entire day. Healthiness of one item is relative in this case, and must be compared to the other items of the day.
I been eating fiber one bars been off my blood pressure meds for 3 dAys it's around 119/75. Do I need to see my doc and tell him about this?
BP: If you are supposed to be on meds you should certainly inform your doctor. Your pressure likely will go back up and you should be monitored or back on your meds

Would avoid: In large doses, chicory root extract is not safe in pregnancy, increasing the risk of bleeding or miscarriage. Since a azimuth safe dose is not known, you should avoid it.
I been having gas from fiber bars, green apples and bananas and whole grain bread. Will the gas eventually go away if I keep on diet and toughen it?
Don't think so: People who eat lots of fiber tend to have lots of gas, as the undigested fiber is a picnic for billions of bowel bacteria. There are reportedly more billions of bacteria inside our bowels than the number of cells we have making up our own bodies. The bacteria will likely keep eating and keep making gas, as long as the "food" keeps coming down the pipe. One can try weaning down the fiber.

Could be fiber type: More likely, the bloating is from other ingredients. Psyllium seed hulk tends to cause bloating. Pure fiber supplements are a simple way to increase the amount of fiber in your diet. There are different types of fibers as well. Find one that does not cause bloating, agrees with you and is easy to take. Make sure you have plenty of liquid/water intake during the day

Haven't had a bowel movement in 9 days. What do I do? Have tried laxatives as well as fiber bars, nothing is working.
It: It is crucial you seek medical attention. The constipation can be due to a bowel obstruction, which is best described by a small or large blockage in the intestines. Continued obstruction can cause a perforation of the bowels - where the fecal matter punctures the intestines. This can be life threatening. I recommend going to an urgent care or emergency room. If the constipation can not be relieved with enemas or other treatments, further tests, such as abdominal xray or ultrasounds studies will need to be performed. Get help.
Not drinking enough: If you eat fiber and do not drink enough fluids it may cause gas and bloating feeling.
What to do about constipation in 3 year old? 3 year old doesn't want to use potty---holds it. Is taking miralax (polyethylene glycol) daily. Eats fiber bars. Doesn't like apple juice. Is constipated. Rectal suppository not working.
More miralax (polyethylene glycol): Talk to your doctor, but if she is still constipated on MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) she may need a higher dose of miralax (polyethylene glycol). If she is eating fiber bars make sure she is drinking plenty of water. She should also sit on the toilet for at least 15 minutes after each meal. Get her a foot stool so it is more comfortable to sit on the toilet that long. If all that doesn't help, she should see a pediatric GI doctor.See 1 more doctor answer
