Not for long term: Side effects include hypermagnesemia which could cause heart rhythm trouble. Hypermagnesemia occurs specially in persons with slow kidneys. Would suggest alternating it with other cathartics if you have constipation. Several options exist i.e. Senna preparations, plymerizedethylene glycol preparations called MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) or its generic form, flaxseed oil, and prune juice. Yes.: You're on low dose of celexa. Just be cautious on milk of magnesia (magnesium hydroxide) use. It's not good to use large amounts of milk of magnesia (magnesium hydroxide) at any time. The interactions you saw are very rare, and usually requires that you have electrolyte abnormalities that are not common at your age group. Senna S is a vegetable laxative that is safer overall. ...Read more
