My usg reveals-acalculous mild gallbladder wall thickening, fatty liver. Lft normal, can reducing fat intake correct both?

Not enough: Reducing fatty food intake may reduce gall bladder attacks, but will not make your fatty liver to normal. Fatty liver is an early sign of liver disease, need to correct the cause soon it may be nutrition, alcohol, chemicals (drugs), hepatitis etc, if allowed may progress to cirrhosis. Please see your doctor and follow the advise ...Read more

It lies below the diaphragm in the abdominal-pelvic region of the abdomen. It produces bile, an alkaline compound which aids in digestion via the emulsification of ...Read more

Mild diffuse infiltration fatty liver and low function gallbladder protein 8.4 bilirubin total 2.0 1.76 and diect 0.27 is this due to fatty liver?

Probably not: With the majority of your bilirubin being indirect, i.e. Unconjugated, you probably have gilbert's syndrome, which is the most common hereditary cause of increased bilirubin and is found in 5-10% of the population and is due to the reduced activity of the enzyme glucuronyltransferase. Bilirubin levels may increase under conditions of exertion, stress, fasting, and infections but is benign. ...Read more

Latest abdominal ultrasound reveals well distended gallbladder, fatty liver, mild gallbladder wall thickening. But lft normal. No pain. What can this mean?

Why did you get US?: If lfts are normal, and no pain, why get us?

Fatty liver means more fat stored in liver than normal, usually due to metabolic reasons - overweight, diabetes, alcohol overuse/abuse.

Gallbladder wall thickening is a weak sign of gallbladder disease in people with pain or tenderness - in this case it probably means the gallbladder could distend even more than it was. ...Read more

Monitor: Polyp that size is very unlikely to be a cancer. 1 cm or greater generally point of concern. Can monitor with sonograms over time at this point. Additional tests like ct or MRI not warranted at this time. Borderline fatty liver is improvement for you. Meds or alcohol, high fat or high carb (simple sugars) can add to it. ...Read more

Us of gallbladder showed lower right lobe of liver grossly normal CT scan showed mild diffuse fatty liver test where 3wks apart how could it?

Different techniques: A gallbladder us is focussed on the gallbladder, not the liver. Mild fatty liver may not be easily appreciated on us depending on the patient size and acoustic conditions.

A non contrast ct allows for measurement of the actual density of the liver and compare it to the spleen to better quantify the liver fat.

Also, what one radiologist feels is within normal may be mildly fatty to another. ...Read more

Gallbladder 17% function no stones on us does it need to come out if not can it set p gangreen? Cn billirubin b caused by this or fatty liver?

Sounds like biliary: Dyskinesia, given that there are no stones and low gallbladder ef. Cholecystectomy will alleviate symptoms in 70% of patients with this diagnosis. However, if there is also elevated bilirubin, that is suspicious for obstruction. Bilirubin needs to be fractionated and if it is direct bilirubin which is elevated further studies are indicated (e.g. Mrcp). Fatty liver should not cause elevated bilirub. ...Read more

Is 1.99 to high for bilirubin? The other is 0.28. I have fatty liver and poorly function gallbladder could this indicate cancer? Please answer

Need more info: If total bilirubin (bil) is elevated, you need to find out what the direct and indirect bil is - there are benign reasons for tbil to be elevated, such as gilbert's syndrome. Also ast, alt, alkaline phosphatase can provide additional information. Fatty liver does not usually lead to increased bil, so you need to look for other reasons. It would be unusual for only tbil to be elevated in cancer. ...Read more

Get healthier: The most likely common link among all these factors is being overweight and (probably) underactive physically. The gallstone is not likely a direct cause or result of the other findings. Upper abdominal pain triggered by eating will likely be an indicator of need for gallbladder surgery in the future. Most importantly, take steps to get healthier overall. ...Read more

Was told had fatty liver after gallbladder op and now pain in sides and back and chest pain. Is my liver failing?

Depends!: When was your surgery. If it happened in the last 6 weeks, and you are having this type of pain now, you need to call your surgeon or go to the ER. If not, there is some other cause of your symptoms. A failing liver does not usually present with pain. But if you have fatty liver, it won't fail for years. The problem can be reversed with weight loss and proper diet, in many cases. No alcohol! ...Read more
