I have a migraine that won't go away. I have vomited 8 times so far and I see double. I have tried OTC migraine medicines and benadryl (diphenhydramine). Is there anything else that I can try?
Rule out ICB: For a persistent headache associated with nausea and resistant to medications, you should get a head ct in the emergency room/department. This could be an intracranial bleed. These are usually associated with trauma, but I have seen some spontaneous icb's. Late period: If this means that you haven't had your period yet but have been sexually active - would go ahead and take a home pregnancy test. See your OBGYN!: Seems possible that the ovarian cyst has made an impact on your cycle. If it prevented ovulation in some way - you'd miss a period. It needs to be examined and depending on results, treatment decisions can b made. The pain also suggests that the cyst may be doing something new. Consult a specialist: Constant headache for 6 days can be due to an underlying medical condition or it could be a tension headache or a migraine. Get 2nd opinion: Not sure who told you they were migraines but frequently other types of headaches are misdiagnosed as migraines. If you haven't already, I would get opinions from both a neurologist and an interventional pain management physician. Yes: In fact, that's a very common symptoms. Most people would respond the the triptan class of drugs. Even the migraine develops after early adulthood, it needs to be evaluated by a neurologist. Depends: The reasons for migraines vary greatly. Clenching/grinding your teeth, especially when sleeping, is a known factor. Nerve problems and stress/psychological issues are also common factors. Time to stop HA's: You could stop each individual event with a triptan if taken early or perhaps Cambia if taken later.
