Why do I get headaches every single day? I suffer migraines and I take inderal (propranolol) for them but I'm still getting really frequent and hard headaches!

Migraines: Migraines are generally triggered by certain foods or food additives, poor sleep, stress, frequent use of analgesic or anti headache medications, and hormonal conditions (like thyroid disorders). "Side effects"?: I don't quite get it. It sounds like side effects are what you're having NOW. Side effects are what you want to STOP having. This is not the venue for your question. Call the doc who prescribed the propranolol. You may get used to it OR you may have been started on too high a dose. I always start at no more than 20 mg/day - sometimes 10. ...Read more

Theoretically yes: Practically probably not. This answer is based on the fact that if you are on a B Blkr and taking a symptathomimetic agent like a stimulant this could cause severe hypertension. Based on studies of people on B Blkrs who took cocaine or were given epinephrine for allergic reactions and this turns out not to be unfounded and not the case. If your BP is up see your Dr and review your medications. ...Read more

Inderal (propranolol): Inderal (propranolol) 5mg is a very low dose. Did the cardiologist advise you to stop the inderal (propranolol)? You should ask your treating physician (s) what they advise.
