Depends what it is: Seeing your doc will help to sort this out. But, it sound like you could have lateral epicondylitis. Hurts with gripping, grabbing, pulling. Sharp and/or dull pain at the lateral elbow. That radiates up into the arm and down into the forearm. Sounds like you had-: Strained the flexors of your hand, hence causing pain with attempts to make a fist. You need to be seen by an orthopedist so an xray, ;/or an us can be done to confirm the DX and treatment started. In the meantime, rest the elbow with rice (rest, ice, compression and elevate)in a sling + pain meds lie with aleve (naproxen) or ibuprofen. Fell on my wrist. It hurts to move it up, grip or lift anything or rotate my forearm.. Pain with moving up is becoming less.
Need follow up: If ur initial evaluation and x rays were normal. A follow up evaluation & new xrays because a navicular fracture maybe normal initially but may show up in 2 wks later.U, in my opinion u should b casted 4 immobilizing the wrist, and it makes sure u return 4 follow up. If still sore and ur ortho guy is still suspicious a ct and or bone scan will help solve the riddle. I do the ct , bone scan next. ...Read more

Depends: Hard to say what this is, depends some on what you were doing before the onset of the pain and swelling, how quickly it arose and how long it lasted.
