Microwave Vegan Chocolate Cake
All cakes are: Cake is oil + sugar + flour, with little or no fiber, and very little protein. That means cake is dangerous (basically, it's junk food). However, good cakes are delicious, so eating a little every now and then is fine to do. How a cake is made (steamed, baked, microwaved, etc...) doesn't add any danger to the cake, but frying it (as in donuts or fried twinkies) adds even more oil to the cake! ...Read more
Read label: Oat is gluten free if grown in a gluten-free environment- far from a wheat or barley field. The gluten in oat is from contamination and not inherent in oat itself. If quaker's oat 's label did not mention gluten-free then you should not touch it unless you get a reply from quaker that this product is made from gluten-free oat. ...Read more

Recipe...: This is my first health tap recipe.. Cut the sweet potatoes the size of french fries. (the thinned you cut them, . The faster they cook.) put them in a plastic bag with some olive oil and shake to coat them. (you can use a bowl if you wish.) bake in a 400 degree oven until done. Season to taste and enjoy. ...Read more
REALLY UNHEALTHY!!!: This is recipe for disaster. Potatoes are in the environmental working group's dirty dozen foods-they're high in pesticides if not organic & are readily converted to sugar so raise blood sugar, causing weight gain & increased risk of diabetes. Generic "vegetable oil" is almost certainly corn, soy or canola which are all gmo if not organic & very toxic, fried potatoes have carcinogenic acrylamides. ...Read more

Is gluten free pasta ( maize starch, soy flour, potato starch and rice starch)with about 40 gm carbohydrates good for cholesterol ?
Does not matter: Since 90% of the cholesterol is produced by the body regardless of your diet, the above would not noticeably affect your cholesterol level. Do note that too much carb may not be good for your health. I don't believe extreme diet does anyone any good. Just eat anything in moderation and exercise at least 3 hrs a week will likely keep you in better shape. ...Read more
This lunch healthy for 18 y/o tryin 2 lose weight? 1 piece whole wheat bread, 1avacodo, slices of tomato/onion/bell pepper, & 4-6 oz chicken breast
OK but...: This is ok but if you really want to lose weight you might avoid the bread as less carbs will help; some feel gluten causes obesity so rice or quinoa might be better. I strongly advise organic chicken - see http://bit.Ly/19xax7e for the reasons. My favorite diet for weight loss and overall health is dr. Fuhrman's nutritarian diet- see http://bit.Ly/1dhw9ht don't forget to exercise. Good luck! ...Read more

Is it healthier to eat junk foods (eg. fried foods, potato chips, candy) occasionally or avoid them altogether?
Agree w' : Dr Fairchild. Many of the junk foods however contain ingredients that are addictive (corn syrup). For some people, when they eat a little they can't stop or they will eat more the next day and the cravings will continue. If once you take a little, you have trouble stopping or find that within a few days you are taking a little more, try to stay clear you may be addicted to something in the junk. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Is it true that you shouldn't eat sugary foods( bread, jam, chocolate spread, honey...) for breakfast?
Balanced diet: Sugary foods alone for breakfast, do not give you a balanced nutrition for the rest of the day. A small amount of protien, and fruit fiber will buffer the high sugar content foods and carbohydrates. Honey is different though as it is largely fructose anad other natural sugars and much better than foods with refined white sugar. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
