Quit Sloughing off.: Skin sloughing, particularly after a period of immobilization and departure from one's daily bathing routine, is almost a given when the immobilization and swelling end. Layers of dead skin cells that are normally sloughed during one's daily routine have piled up and are revealed as these skin "sheets". One can only imagine how much skin is shedded daily by your body daily. ...Read more

1-must wear straight shoe lasts for overpronation & flat feet? 2-can sneakers have mesh and leather tops?

??: Not so much a straight last as much as a last of some kind / cheaper shoes may look ok but if you can bend the shoe easily at the heel-forefoot junction then this is not a good shoe for you a good shoe with a last coupled with a good otc or custom made orthotic is the ticket as long as the construction is of reasonable quality what the upper is made from is not too much of an issue. ...Read more

Strassburg sock - gastroc contracture. Keeps foot out of equinus, but stretch felt in mid foot & not ankle/calf. Have CS in medial foot. Keep wearing?

Hold all exercises 30 seconds, do 2 sets, 3 times per day. Hope this helps. ...Read more

Describe hammer toe surgery?

Describe hammer toe surgery?

Different types.: If you catch hammertoes in the early stages, a small, in-office procedure to release one of the tendons will often allow the toe to lie straight again. If the toe deformity has become rigid, the surgery is more involved. It's an outpatient procedure in an operating room, and can involve bone cuts, pins, screws, or other implants. Without surgery, your best bet is padding to reduce your discomfort. ...Read more

Don't even ask.: This is an example of one of those hypotheticals that that surgeons are expected to have an answer for without knowing all the details. After practicing for almost forty years, my answer has never wavered. "If you have to ask, the answer is NO." ...Read more

Can a foot arch fracture aggrivate plantar facsi?

Foot Injury: At around 4:30pm today I hit my foot, smallest toe is slightly cut into, vertically. And ring toe is bruised under the nail. Pulsing?

No cause for concern: The small superficial cut on your small toe shouldn't be much of an issue as long as you can move your toe and feel the sensation at the tip of the toe. If the edges of the cut are gaping use tape to bring edges together.
