5 and then 5: It would be best to get plan b or another emergency contraception at pharmacy. But if this isn't possible, you can take 5 pills now and repeat 5 more pills in 12 hours. There is a good chance this may cause nausea and an upset stomach. Emergency contraception is not 100% effective in preventing undesired pregnancy. If you do not have a normal menstrual cycle, take pregnancy test ...Read more

"i took 7 days worth of microgestin fe 1.5/30 in 1 day last month. Was told yesyerday i may now have mittleshmerz.Could it be anything else?
Not clear: I don't know what you are feeling that you were told was mittelschmerz. Mittelschmerz is the pain in the right or left low belly that can occur with ovulation. Taking 7 bcp in a day doesn't cause it. Taking that many pills will make your period irregular for that month so it can take several months for your cycles to get back to normal. ...Read more
I missed an active microgestin 1/20 pill on Tuesday and just remembered today (Saturday) should I take 2 today? I have take the others correctly
Missed BCP: I would simply to keep things straight although your protection may NOT be as it should for the next cycle. Modern birth control pills have very low levels of hormone and missing pills can cause issues. If you miss one day - double up the NEXT day. any more misses requires a backup method - ie condom for the next complete cycle. Good luck ...Read more

My girlfriend was on microgestin f.e 1/20 for 3.5 years. She came off it 6months ago. We've been trying ACTIVELY still not preg. How long wear off?
Varies: 1-2 months for all extraneous hormones to dissipate, sometimes longer. Get pregnant is never a given. Do not try too hard. Give yourself a few days between intercourse to let your sperm build up. Prolonged (15-20 minute ) foreplay will stimulated sexual secretions which will mobilize sperm. Use a position with the lady on the bottom. 2 pillows under hips and her legs on your shoulders- for 5 min. ...Read more
I don't take my Microgestin Fe pill at the same time everyday. I take it between 10 PM - Midnight. Am I still protected with this two hour time span?
Yes: Microgestin Fe is a combination pill so as long as you take it everyday, you're fine, although I wouldn't suggest 11:59PM then 2 minutes later at 12:01AM. Check out http://plannedparenthood.tumblr.com/post/23827960518/timing-of-birth-control-pills. Progestin-only pills have a much narrower 3hr leeway. ...Read more
Hello, I have been taking microgestin 1/20 for one cycle. I kept taking the pill 5 days into the next cycle. Should i stop taking the pill now or not?
You can: You have just extended your pill cycle, similar to what women do when a special weekend or trip is coming up and they do not want to menstruate. Menstrual periods on birth control pills are drug induced from withdrawal of the hormones in the pill and generally are not necessary. That is the basis for the three month cycle pills or Depo Provera (medroxyprogesterone) where women theoretically have only 4 periods per year. ...Read more
Was on Microgestin until 21st. 23rd pd started. went to gyno 25th and got mononessa.started today. boyfriend gets here tomorrow.am I still protected?
OCP's: Did you start the pills on the 25th? If you started on the 25th, then you are still protected as you were pill free for four days only. However, since they are new, I would use backup protection, just to be sure, such as condoms until 7 pills have been taken. ...Read more

I took my last pill in the microgestin 21 day pack on Saturday but vomited a very small amount after. What do you recommend?
No worries: Just start the next pack when you usually would and you should have no problems. If you are still vomiting, that needs to be assessed. Otherwise you should still be protected from pregnancy since it was the last pill. To be extra safe, if you wanted to you could use a condom as a backup for the first 7 days of your next pack of pills. ...Read more
I have been on bc for 2 years. I have been taking microgestin 1/20. I have some abnormal bleeding. duration: 9 days. could it be breakthrough?
Yes: Abnormal bleeding on birth control pills is by definition break through bleeding and is common when you are just starting pills or if you forget or take your pills late. It can also be caused by infections like chlamydia and abnormal cells on the cervix. If you have been taking the pills at the same time every day get in to be checked. Better safe than sorry. ...Read more
