Yes: Lo-ovral (norgestel/ethinyl estradiol) has a good track record and has been used successfully for many years by many women. Like any ocp, cardiovascular side effects are increased with any smoking so use a different form of birth control for any amount of cigarette/tobacco/smoking use. ...Read more
Not my 1st choice: I do not like that pill, and it has 30mcg of estrogen and it is 21 days. There are many pills that have less estrogen which is better- less chance for estrogen related side effects. My number one pill i prescribe is loloestin, it only has 10 mcg estrogen which is safer and it has 24 active pills and then 2 estrogen pills so only 2 placebo pills , so you get lighter periods and less chance of a cys. ...Read more
If it works for you.: Pretty much all of the oral combo contraceptives have similar effecacy and risk profile, but one-pill does not fit all. If you don't have any side effect from it and it is affordable, then it is a good one for you.
