I have a yeast infection, and I did the one dose yeast infection with miconazole two days ago, what else can I do to get rid of this?

Yeast treatment: The same pharmacy shelves have several other products with active ingredient ending in "azole" (clotrimazole, terconazole, etc). Try a different one this time. However, a few types of yeast are resistant to all types of azole drugs; if repeat treatment doesn't work, you'll need to see your doctor to confirm the diagnosis and prescription therapy. Also, are you sure yeast and not other problem? ...Read more

I have a yeast infection I'm started using miconazole 3 last night. I had a period 14 day's ago but my period has started last night is it the medicin?

Early bleeding?: It is not the medicine. If you are not on oral birth control, the end ofyour "period 14 days ago" (assuming the start was 14 days ago) is about the time of ovulation, which can produce some bleeding, especially if two eggs are ovulating. If the bleeding continues, see your healthcare provider, especially if there is a chance that you may be pregnant. ...Read more

Is Ticonazole more effective than Miconazole? Miconazole didn't work. Do you think Ticonazole will?

Probably not: It's not likely to work. All the "azole" drugs (miconazole, clotrimazole, terconazole, fluconazole, tioconazole, and others) have the same efficacy against yeast. Up to 5-10% of vaginal yeast infections are resistant to them. Speak with your doctor about alternate treatments, e.g. flucytosine, caspofungin, and a few others. You'll need a prescription. Good luck and happy new year! ...Read more

Clotrimazole vs miconazole, which is better?

Similar antifungals: These medicines are quite similar, and often doctors use them interchangeably. The question as to 'what site' is involved may determine which product gets used. I have faith that either one would work fine for minor fungal infections. If these over the counter products don't help, then it's time to take it to the next level -call a doc.
