I can't find any information on the medication chlorpheniramine maleate 4mg on here, any information?

Antihistamine: Chlorpheniramine is a first generation antihistamine. It has been around for a long time and is available in a lot of over the counter medications. While effective for mild allergies it can cause drowsiness in many people. Second generation antihistamines such as Claritin (loratadine) or Allegra (fexofenadine) are often a better choice as they are non-sedating. ...Read more

I ate a cake (3hrs ago) which may have wine as ingredient. Just checking if I'm able to eat my medications later? (Chlorpheniramine 4mg & cough syrup)

Sounds ok: Wine as an ingredient in baked goods should not be in a large enough quantity to interact with other medications. So, if a person is not allergic to wine, and has not had unusual reactions to alcoholic drinks in the past, then eating some cake that has traces of wine should not be a problem. ...Read more

Will 32-48 mg of chlorpheniramine maleate make me sick or should it have no affect?

Will 32-48 mg of chlorpheniramine maleate make me sick or should it have no affect?

That's an overdose: 32-48 mg is definitely an overdose of chlorpheniramine. The maximum over-the-counter recommended dose is 4 mg every 4-6 hours (24 mg max/day). There are extended-release forms that have higher doses, but they are also meant to last 12 hours or longer. 32-48 mg will likely cause dry mouth, eyes, etc., as well as excessive drowsiness. I don't recommend at all that high a dose. ...Read more
