My tsh, t3, (liothyronine) n T4 now come back normal, but my endo still put me with the same 5 mg methimazole? I keep gain weight please help
18 mos: You need at least 18 mos of control on Methimazole to hope for a long term cure. At your age you may need it life long or else radioiodine tx. You body has learned to eat more from when your thyroid was overactive, and you need to physically change that by eating less and exercising more. Your body won't do it for you.
