Neither speed up intestinal transit time to any significant degree or cause injury in recommended doses. However, fiber can bind to certain medications, decreasing their absorption. Different but the: Same - almost! Both are sources of fiber. Benefiber comes from wheat dextrin, while Metamucil comes from psyllium seed. One is not necessarily better than the other, you just have to see which one your body better tolerates.
