Is inulin (metamucil) safe during pregnancy? I'm 28 weeks & have tried everything diet related to avoid constipation, and this type of Metamucil is the only thing that seems to work.

Yes: Yes metamucil is safe in pregnancy, however if not working other things that might help, drink plenty of water, eat prunes, you can make a fiber juice with carrots, cucumbers, celery, pinnapple, apple, mixed in a blender with natural orage juice. Yes: It's basically just sugar and aspartame (nutrasweet). As long as you don't have phenyketonuria, you can take it. I am not a fan of aspartame anytime, and i think it's especially important to avoid as many artificial chemicals during pregnancy as possible, so i wouldn't recommend nauzene.
