This morning, when i woke up, i felt like i couldn't breath. This lasted less than a minute, but it scared me. What could have caused this?
What would/could cause episodes of "accidentally holding your breath" during the day while awake, alert, etc? My wife tells me I do it a lot.
Holding Breath: During sleep, people with sleep apnea have brief periods of ceasing of breathing. Breath holding while alert has to be voluntary as our cyclical periods of inspiration and expiration are automatic unless we purposefully intervene caused by thinking of your breathing.
