Is probiotics a goodthing to takeafter taking doxycycline?I developed gastritis n GERD.Heard probiotics repopulates bacteria.Any bad probiotic effects

Probiotics: Most people don't need probiotics after taking a course of antibiotics, since the normal bacterial flora of the gut repopulates rapidly after stopping antibiotics. If you have a history of C. difficile, it may be useful to take probiotics, however. Otherwise, studies do not support their routine use. Having said that, there are not usually many side effects, if you do decide to try them. Good luck ...Read more

How can probiotics update gut flora?

How can probiotics update gut flora?

Variable per person: Your question is excellent, but the response is individualized based on a patient's goals with probiotics. GI transit time, diet, use of probiotics, co-morbidities that may require use of antibiotics or other medications that affect gut flora, as well as the underlying pathology found in the gut may all alter benefit. Is it safe to take a multivitamin, probiotic, fish oil omega-3 supplement, apple cider vinegar, and psyllium husk for fiber together daily?

Is it safe to take a multivitamin, probiotic, fish oil omega-3 supplement, apple cider vinegar, and psyllium husk for fiber together daily?

Yes: These are safe though I wouldn't take them all at once. I advise the multivitamin after breakfast, the probiotic at the start of a meal, the fish oil after lunch or dinner, apple cider vinegar in water separate from meals and the psyllium at bedtime. Some multivitamins are far better than others- see https://drrandybaker.com/2012/11/ and https://www.multivitaminguide.org/best-multivitamin.html ...Read more

What probiotic is good for candida yeast gnc 50 ultra 50 probiotic complex or gnc multi strain probiotic conplex 10 billion cfus ? Plz suggest me thx.

Probably won't help: No probiotic is likely to be effective in treating a yeast infection. If that's what you have, you need treatment with a proper anti-yeast antibiotic. However, if you're talking about "systemic" candidasis, it's an urban myth; there is no such thing, and no treatment makes any difference. Discuss with a scientifically trained physician. Good luck! ...Read more

Is it safe to take a multivitamin, omega-3 supplement, probiotic, vitamin D3, vitamin K2, and my SSRI antidepressant together daily?

Safe but: why do you need so many supplements. If you are taking a mixed diet, , none of the supplements other than vitamin D3 are doing you any good.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. How is nordic naturals vitamin d3, or other vitd3 supplements?

How is nordic naturals vitamin d3, or other vitd3 supplements?

No better or worse: When it comes to multivitamins & mineral supplements, you don't need fancy labels & brands. Yes, there are claims re solubility etc but bottom line, there aren't even any studies showing clinical benefit from multivtamins. With that said, rather than worry about brand names & labels (aside from USP DSVP), ask your family doc to measure 25OH vitamin D. Keep it over 30ng/mL to protect your bones. ...Read more
